Anthony Valadez remembers the first time he fell in love with the fm dial messing around with the knob and landing on public radio. Since then he’s created radio for the LatinX community (Alternalido on KROQ) and serving as the co-host of KCRW’s music flagship program, Morning Becomes Eclectic. He’s also documented dj culture on Fuse TV’s Crate Diggers for 3 seasons with Tier 1 dj’s digging across record stores in the U.S. As a dj, he’s opened for the likes of Bruno Mars, Meshell Ndegeocello, Little Dragon, Sly Stone, Jennifer Lopez, Prince, Slick Rick, KRS One and countless others.

Growing up in the San Fernando Valley and raised by his grandfather, Valadez was very curious with visual art, theatre and it’s connection to music. In college, he wrote Blasting Holes In The Night, a modern day greek adaptation which was scored on two turntables and was invited to the Shanghai Theatre Academy’s Experimental Festival in 2002.

Today he can be found sharing his love of photography and short story form content housed on his social media. “Story telling is everything” Valadez states. “Ive never been fond of talking points but rather deep dives into the process of art”.
